Before and After - South Side Nave Windows. Approximately 40 windows throughout the building received this treatment.
Between 1999 and 2001 Johnson County Stained Glass carried out extensive restoration and preservation work at Our Lady & St. Rose Church, 7th & Quindaro, Kansas City, Kansas. All 40 plus windows in the structure received attention.
The bulk of the work involved replacing old protective glazing. This glazing was a mixed batch of the original ribbed plate glass, much of it broken, along with mis-matched repair glass that had gone in over the years.
In preparation for the new protective glazing, exterior millwork was stripped down to bare wood. Rotted millwork was replaced where needed. All stripped millwork was primed and two top coats oil base paint were applied.
Stained glass work included releading a small number of panels and a few minor repair pieces. Additionally, the original center pivot vents in the main sanctuary were all brought back into operating condition.
