New plate glass protective glazing was the final step. The textured glass was chosen to simulate the protective glazing that was original to the building.
New perimeter Brickmold sections, seen at the bottom, were also made and applied.
This photo shows the work after paintwork is complete - one coat primer, two top coats, all joints sealed.
The framework is ready for application of new replacement parts.
The new facing is all attached to the subframe.
The bad millwork facing is all removed here, exposing the subframe. The subframe's condition was good Bad perimeter Brickmold sections have also been removed at the bottom.
Here the old plate glass has been removed.
The framework included top plates that served as the housing for the plate glass protective glazing. These sections of the frame were in poor condition. All were removed. New pieces were made and installed.
All stained glass restoration, millwork restoration and protective glazing replacement on this job was completed by Johnson County Stained Glass. Work finished up in 2001.

Two Rose Windows, one in each the north and south Transept were in very rough shape. Millwork was badly deteriorated. The existing Protective Glazing was peppered with BB holes and cracked panes. The Stained Glass itself was in good condition.
